چکیده

Because of the rapid improvements occurring in the dynamic environment of web applications, ontologies have to be modified to reflect the changes made to the applications. Management of the changes within ontologies is one of the most crucial tasks that needs to be resolved. Various approaches and frameworks have been devised by the researchers to handle it. Despite all the efforts made in this direction, the problem still requires to be researched. To address the problem, we have critically analyzed a number of existing ontology evolution approaches against a criterion we have defined in this paper. Having identified the limitations and weaknesses along with their strengths, we have proposed some requirements that must be incorporated in the design of ontology management approaches. [Khadim H. An Ontological Critique of Critical Geopolitics in Gearóid Ó Tuathail and Simon Dalby

Introduction: Philosophical research in the study of political geography in Iran is very limited. Among the existing cases, we encounter a kind of theoretical confusion that results from a lack of sufficient scientific and philosophical accuracy. Therefore, this study seeks to address the critical philosophical geopolitical critique in the writings of Ó Tuathail and Dalby by pointing out the ne...

Developing the Conceptual and Methodological Framework for Discursive-institutional Analysis of Coastal Exclusive Space Production: with Special Reference to Critical Realism Perspective

Because of the limited capacity of coastal lands and conflicting interests among stakeholders for coastal resources, there are intensifying pressures to retain and provide more public access to the coast. Coastal gated communities have been developed increasingly in the middle shoreline of Caspian Sea in North of Iran. They are kind of exclusive space production as they restrict public access t...

Evolution of biomedical ontologies and mappings: Overview of recent approaches

Biomedical ontologies are heavily used to annotate data, and different ontologies are often interlinked by ontology mappings. These ontology-based mappings and annotations are used in many applications and analysis tasks. Since biomedical ontologies are continuously updated dependent artifacts can become outdated and need to undergo evolution as well. Hence there is a need for largely automated...

Structuring Racist Ideologies in Stephen Crane’s “A Dark Brown Dog”: A Critical Discourse Analysis

This paper deals with the study of how racist ideologies are constructed in Crane’s “A Dark Brown Dog” using the CDA framework. Benefitting from the approaching between literature and linguistics, it focuses on the linguistic examination of the (re)construction of whiteness and blackness based on the assumption that racism is: a social, a discursive, and an ideological construct. This tri-dimen...

Ontology evolution: a process-centric survey

Ontology evolution aims at maintaining an ontology up to date with respect to changes in the domain that it models or novel requirements of information systems that it enables. The recent industrial adoption of Semantic Web techniques, which rely on ontologies, has led to the increased importance of the ontology evolution research. Typical approaches to ontology evolution are designed as multip...
